If it’s a wedding or birthday party, all I want is to make everyone dance. At band nights I’ll suit the style of the acts. At functions and bars I’ll complement the vibe of the night. My DJing kicked off after making playlists for my sister’s wedding, which had all generations dancing ’til 4am. My favourite feedback was from my brother-in-law’s mum: “I want to sit down but every song is too good, I don’t have a chance”.
I play drums in Big Scary and run the record label Pieater. My taste in music is broad. The genres you probably won’t find me playing are heavy club music, heavy metal or overly ambient. I love soul and funk, the 90s, Australian indie, and current pop. Missy Elliott to Television, Twerps to Whitney Houston – if the vibe is right I won’t turn my nose up at it.
I can organise the P.A. hire and setup, and provide your music for the ceremony, reception and dance floor (or any combination thereof). We can chat about what kind of music you’re after. Some examples of what I love to play include Prince, The Temptations, Sheryl Crow, Fleetwood Mac and Mark Ronson.
